Mapo Protocol suffers cross-chain bridge attack, token crashes
CoinWorld reports that the native token Mapo of Mapo collapsed after the Butter Network cross-chain bridge attack.
The attacker exploited a Solidity vulnerability to mint approximately 1 trillion Mapo and sold about 1 billion tokens on Uniswap, resulting in a loss of about 52 ETH (approximately $180k).
Following the incident, the mainnet was paused and migrated, and Butterswap was also halted.
The price dropped from about $0.003 to $0.0001.
Blockaid states that the attacker still controls nearly 1 trillion tokens and is operating with new accounts.
This is one of at least 18 security incidents in DeFi this month.
