The three major U.S. stock indices closed mixed with gains and losses
Golden Finance reports that on May 19, the three major U.S. stock indices closed mixed: the Nasdaq fell 0.51%, the S&P 500 fell 0.07%, and the Dow rose 0.32%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 2.47%, Seagate Technology fell nearly 7%, Micron Technology, Applied Materials, and SanDisk fell by more than 5%, Western Digital fell by more than 4%, and ASML fell by about 2%. Large tech stocks were mixed: Netflix rose by more than 3%, while Amazon, Microsoft, and Google posted slight gains; Tesla fell by nearly 3%, Nvidia fell by more than 1%, and Meta and Apple saw slight declines.
