Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 18th, according to Bloomberg, a serious rift has emerged in the two-year partnership between Apple and OpenAI. OpenAI believes the collaboration has not met expectations — ChatGPT’s exposure within the Apple ecosystem is insufficient, the feature access points are hidden, and subscription conversions are far below expectations. They are currently working with external law firms to explore legal options, including issuing a breach of contract notice to Apple. An OpenAI executive stated that Apple “did not even make an honest effort.” No final decision has been made yet, and OpenAI still hopes to resolve the issue outside of court.

Meanwhile, Apple plans to introduce multiple AI access mechanisms in iOS 27, testing the integration of Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini, which will further weaken OpenAI’s exclusive position.
