I looked through the on-chain transfer records from last year, and my head just hurts... Jumping back and forth across cross-chain bridges, exchanges requesting transfers multiple times, in the end, it’s almost impossible to match who paid whom. Now I’ve learned my lesson: for large transactions, just take a screenshot + put the TXID into a spreadsheet, with notes in plain language like “bridged from Chain A to Chain B,” “withdrawn to a certain exchange,” “swapped to stablecoins,” etc. Don’t expect to remember what the picture was about by the end of the year.

Once the rate cut expectations come out, the dollar index and risk assets start acting up together again. I don’t need to watch the market closely, but I really can’t slack off on record-keeping, or the tax declaration season will be purely guesswork. Anyway, keep the data first, so that when it comes to calculating taxes or explaining things later, there’s at least evidence, and I won’t mess myself up.
