I just checked the Madrid Stock Exchange hours because I needed to know exactly what time the market closes to plan my trades. It turns out it opens at 9:00 am and closes at 5:30 pm in CEST time, Monday through Friday. No Saturdays or Sundays, in case anyone was wondering. The interesting part is that it's not just the Madrid Stock Exchange, but it also coordinates four Spanish exchanges through the SIBE, and based on this, the famous IBEX 35 operates with the 35 largest companies in the market.

If you want to trade seriously, it's worth knowing what time the market closes because there are key moments. Before the official opening, there's an auction from 8:30 am to 9:00 am, and after the regular close, there's another auction from 5:30 pm to 5:35 pm. These periods can be crucial if you have pending orders.

The Madrid Stock Exchange hosts Spain's heavyweight companies: banks like BBVA and Santander, international construction firms like Ferrovial and ACS, and giant retail companies like Inditex. It was founded in 1831 and has evolved quite a bit. The important thing is that if you trade from Latin America, the hours change according to your time zone. For example, from Mexico, it opens at 1:00 am and closes at 9:30 pm; from Buenos Aires, it's 4:00 am to 12:30 pm. So, before investing money, double-check what time the market closes based on where you are. Also note that there are holidays when nothing operates, so review the trading calendar before trying to trade.
