This is the first wide-ranging piece of crypto legislation to make it this far in the United States Senate. Not a proposal. Not a discussion. A vote.
Here is what still has to happen before it becomes law:
- Merge with the Senate Agriculture Committee version.
- Pass the full Senate with 60 yes votes.
- Clear the House.
- Presidential signature.
The road is long. The direction is no longer in question.
