Trump's team urgently visits China! Both the U.S. and China reveal their bottom lines; this is a deep game of interests and negotiations.
U.S. core demands
1. Want to secure large trade orders, pressure China to purchase agricultural products, energy, and aerospace equipment, and reduce the trade deficit;
2. Seek to stabilize the rare earth supply chain, maintain their technological industry chain advantage, while also demanding expanded market access in China;
3. Intend to set "guardrails" on the Taiwan Strait situation to manage risks, but are unwilling to give up arms sales to Taiwan and interference in internal affairs;
4. Hope China will cooperate and support on international issues like Russia-Ukraine, the Middle East, and drug prohibition, while also leveraging diplomatic achievements to garner domestic votes.
China's core demands
1. Uphold the one-China red line, demand the U.S. stop arms sales to Taiwan, cease interference in internal affairs, and firmly oppose Taiwan independence;
2. Require the U.S. to cancel unreasonable tariffs, technological sanctions, and chip blockades against China, restoring normal trade, technology, and economic exchanges;
3. Establish crisis communication mechanisms to prevent misjudgments and conflicts between China and the U.S., and avoid a complete decoupling;
4. Insist on equal and mutually beneficial relations, reject hegemonic long-arm jurisdiction, and stabilize the external environment for domestic economic development.
The U.S. seeks economic benefits and political votes; China defends national sovereignty and stability; each has its demands and bottom lines. Every step is a precise game of interests.
