Recently, I have been thinking a lot about AIGC. This technology actually has a history of nearly 10 years.

AIGC, or AI Generated Content, is a technology that uses artificial intelligence to generate content. It is attracting attention as a new content creation method alongside PGC (professionally created) and UGC (user created). Since the emergence of ChatGPT, it has become a hot topic worldwide, and surpassing 100 million monthly active users in just one month clearly demonstrates the potential of this technology.

Looking back at the technological development, in 2014, the "Generative Adversarial Network" GAN was proposed. This became the initial framework for the AIGC field. The system where the generative model and the discriminative model compete and learn from each other was revolutionary at the time.

The first successful case in the blockchain space was in 2020. The platform Art Blocks appeared, enabling programmable generative art on the Ethereum chain. Creators write scripts, which are stored on the blockchain, and unique NFTs are generated. I think this is an important example of the fusion of AIGC and Web3.

2022 was truly a turning point. At the beginning of the year, the technology was still in development, but within a few months, it reached a professional level. The CEO of a major exchange also announced an AI-based image-generating NFT product, and major companies started to take it seriously.

I feel that the most exciting part is yet to come. As AIGC matures, the implementation of the metaverse also becomes more realistic. If we can efficiently generate various types of content—text, images, audio, video, and even actions—it will lay the foundation for the era of Web3.0.

A world where high-quality content can be produced rapidly while significantly reducing labor consumption. In the near future, a platform may emerge where users can explore virtual worlds infinitely. I believe the evolution of AIGC is not just a technological trend but has the potential to transform the entire digital ecosystem.
