Just caught wind of some interesting moves in the crypto VC space. Arianna Simpson, one of the GPs over at a16z Crypto, announced she's heading out to start her own fund. Pretty significant given her track record there.

So here's the backstory - Arianna Simpson spent six years at a16z Crypto and apparently made some solid investment calls during that time. Before that, she actually founded her own crypto fund, so this isn't her first rodeo with building investment vehicles. She's basically an OG in the space, been bullish on crypto since way back.

What caught my attention is that she's planning to expand her investment thesis beyond what she was doing at a16z. The new fund will cover various verticals in the crypto ecosystem, which suggests she's got a broader vision for where opportunities lie. She gave props to Chris Dixon, the founder and managing partner at a16z Crypto, saying his investment framework really shaped how she thinks about the space.

Interesting timing honestly. We're seeing more and more experienced crypto investors spinning out to do their own thing. Arianna Simpson clearly has the pedigree and the experience to pull this off - founding track record, six years of successful deployments at one of the biggest crypto funds. Definitely one to keep an eye on in terms of what bets she makes next.
