The latest data released by the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration shows that the autumn grain procurement season for 2025 ended at the end of April this year.
The total purchase of all types of grain by various grain enterprises nationwide exceeded 338 million tons, a relatively high level in recent years.
The overall procurement is characterized by rapid progress, active buying and selling, and rising prices.
According to preliminary statistics, the total purchase includes 103 million tons of medium and late rice, 222 million tons of corn, and 12.99 million tons of soybeans.
The provinces of Henan, Hunan, and Heilongjiang have launched the minimum purchase price implementation plans for medium and late rice, with a total of 4.18 million tons of medium and late rice purchased at the minimum price.
Luo Shouquan, director of the Grain Reserves Department of the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, stated that this season’s autumn grain market opened early, with overall good quality.
Farmers are eager to sell grain, and enterprises are actively purchasing, creating a good situation of brisk buying and selling, with stable prices that are gradually rising.
Meanwhile, the characteristics of high quality and high price are becoming more evident, with high-quality taste rice reaching 3,200 yuan per ton, and high-protein premium soybeans exceeding 5,000 yuan per ton.
