OpenAI poaches executive from programmatic advertising giant: TTD Chief Strategy Officer appointed as Vice President of Monetization Partnerships

According to Beating Monitoring, programmatic advertising giant The Trade Desk (TTD) Chief Strategy Officer Samantha Jacobson will step down to join OpenAI, taking on the role of Vice President of Monetization Partnerships. A TTD spokesperson confirmed the news and said Jacobson will remain on TTD’s board of directors, with her official start at OpenAI expected later this month.

At OpenAI, Jacobson will report to Torben Severson, Vice President of Global Business Development. With her extensive background in programmatic advertising, Jacobson will lead OpenAI’s external monetization partnership efforts, covering areas such as advertising, product distribution, platform infrastructure, and emerging business models.
