Bittrex Seeks Return of $24M SEC Settlement After Policy Shift

Bittrex asked a federal judge to unwind its 2023 SEC settlement and return the $24 million penalty it paid. The defunct exchange argues the SEC has since reversed its stance on whether most crypto tokens are securities and has dropped similar cases. The filing says the SEC moved in March to forfeit the funds to the Treasury Department for former customers.
