Iranian President: Distrust of the U.S. stems from hostile actions by the U.S. side

On May 6th local time, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi had a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron to exchange views on the latest regional situation. Raisi mentioned Iran’s distrust of the United States during the call and emphasized that this distrust stems from hostile actions by the U.S., with recent examples being the two attacks on Iran during negotiations, which are essentially seen as “stabbing from behind.” Macron stated during the call that restoring peace in the Strait of Hormuz would help promote negotiations on nuclear issues and regional affairs.
