These days, I'm again torn between going on the mainnet or sticking with L2, basically bouncing back and forth between gas fees and user experience. The mainnet is indeed "the most authentic," but every time I click confirm, I have to take a deep breath and silently remind myself not to burn a meal's worth of money just to save a few minutes... L2 feels much smoother to use, but just thinking about that "bridge" when crossing back to the mainnet triggers a reflex to look for guardrails: Is the bridge's verification model reliable, can it stop a problem if something goes wrong, and has there been any record of failures in the past?
Recently, the community has been arguing about privacy coins, mixing services, and the boundaries of compliance. The more I hear, the less willing I am to take shortcuts from unknown sources just to save trouble. My compromise is: use L2 for daily small transactions, and keep large or long-term ones on the mainnet as much as possible; if I really need to bridge, I’d rather go slower and pay higher fees than skip guardrails. In the end, it’s still that sentence: don’t let “smoothness” make your brain slip away.
