Ministry of Finance: National fiscal revenue growth in the first quarter reached a new high in the same period over the past three years

The Ministry of Finance held a press conference on the fiscal revenue and expenditure for the first quarter.
Officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Finance introduced that in the first quarter of this year, China’s economic operation started strongly, and the growth of fiscal revenue reached a new high in the same period over the past three years.
In the first quarter, China’s major macroeconomic indicators rebounded, prices showed positive changes, and exports and imports grew rapidly, providing strong support for the growth of fiscal revenue.
The national fiscal revenue was 61.613 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.4% year-on-year.
Central fiscal revenue was 24.991 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year.
Local fiscal revenue was 36.622 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.1% year-on-year.
Eighty percent of regions saw revenue growth, with income in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions all increasing.
Tax revenue growth rebounded, with most tax types maintaining growth.
Among them, domestic value-added tax was 21.473 trillion yuan, up 4.9% year-on-year.
Import goods value-added tax and consumption tax totaled 4.588 trillion yuan, an increase of 12.9%.
In the first quarter, national fiscal expenditure was 74.706 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.6%.
Among them, social security and employment expenditure grew by 9%; health and wellness expenditure increased by 12.1%; urban and rural community expenditure grew by 2.8%.
