On May 2, data showed that the total crypto financing in April amounted to $659 million, a 74% decrease from March’s $2.6 billion. The number of financing deals fell from 84 to 63, with a cumulative financing of approximately $5.64 billion since 2026. April’s financing represents the lowest level since July 2024. The decline in funding reflects a cautious approach from investment institutions amid ongoing weakness in liquidity and risk appetite. Since October 2025, the scale of crypto financing has continued to decline, with the total market capitalization of the crypto market dropping by about 37% during the same period. In the sub-sectors, DeFi projects attracted the most attention, completing 12 financing deals in April, while blockchain services and AI-related projects each completed 8 deals. Among investment institutions, market maker GSR was the most active investor for the month, participating in 4 financing transactions.
