Tonight on night shift, I caught another "on-chain delay" and it made me anxious: clearly the transaction has been sent, but the wallet side hasn't updated for a while, and I thought I missed the interaction. Later I looked it up and remembered that what you see as "on-chain" is often just the node/RPC you're connected to queuing, or the indexer hasn't finished fetching the data... To put it simply, it's not that the chain didn't happen, but your data stream is slow.

The third time I encountered this, I’ve learned my lesson: for the same hash, I’ll switch between two RPCs and then check with a block explorer; once I confirm it’s on-chain, I’ll give myself a break and not redo the task immediately.
Recently, the NFT royalty dispute has been quite intense, and it’s similar: everyone is watching the "display results" in the secondary market, but the underlying data updates/routing are different, making it look like they’re talking past each other.
Anyway, I keep making checklists, verifying what I can, and waiting if I can’t... Don’t let the "not refreshed" cause you to shake with anxiety.
