😱 september 2025

a man went online claiming he only had 120 hours left to live.
he said he was terminally ill/disabled and wanted to do one last thing for his family.

he created a memecoin called $120hours on pumpdotfun
people felt sorry for him and started buying out of compassion.

the story spread fast on crypto twitter/x. a shirtless streamer in a hospital-like setup went live, saying he didn’t even know what a rug pull was and that all trading fees would go to his family.

in just a few days, the token reached a peak market cap of ~$534k.

on day 5, everything disappeared.
he drained the liquidity live on stream, sent the funds to anonymous wallets, deleted the accounts, and vanished.

the “dying” man wasn’t real. it was a sympathy scam from the start.

in crypto, people’s emotions can (and will) be used against them.
