Just looked at some 2024 NYC real estate data and it's wild how much the richest part of NYC has shifted. SoHo just took the top spot from Hudson Yards with a median price hitting $4.25M. That's the first time in eight years it's been number one. TriBeCa came in second at around $3.9M, which is actually a crazy 55% jump from the year before.

What caught my eye is how the market's all over the place depending on the neighborhood. Chelsea saw a 35% increase and had the most sales activity with 175 transactions. But then you've got places like Dumbo that dropped 41% from $2.8M to $1.67M, and Flatiron down 19%. Hudson Square fell even harder with a 31% decrease.

Brooklyn's definitely in the richest part of nyc conversation too. Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens are both pushing past $1.6M median prices. Even with the dips in some areas, these neighborhoods are still absolutely insane money-wise. The whole market seems to be recalibrating, which is interesting to watch. Some areas that were on top a few years ago are cooling off while others are heating up. Definitely tracking how this develops in the richest neighborhoods across the city.
