Google signs confidential AI collaboration agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense

Mars Finance News, April 28 — According to reports citing sources familiar with the matter, Google has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense allowing the military to use Google’s artificial intelligence models in classified projects. The sources said the agreement authorizes the Department of Defense to use Google AI technology for “any lawful government purpose,” a clause that has previously been controversial in negotiations between other tech companies and the military on AI collaborations. On Monday, several Google employees jointly wrote a letter to CEO Sundar Pichai, strongly urging the company to reject the partnership. (Wide-angle Observation)
