Gold Prices Slightly Rise on Tuesday ( 28/4) Morning, Traders Watch US-Iran Negotiations
Gold prices increased during Tuesday's trading ( 28/4/2026). At 07:46 WIB, the gold price for June 2026 delivery on the Commodity Exchange was at US$ 4,707.70 per troy ounce, up 0.3% from the previous day’s US$ 4,693.79 per troy ounce.
Gold prices rose slightly as traders consider the latest efforts by the US and Iran to find a solution to the Iran war negotiations.
Citing Bloomberg, US President Donald Trump held a meeting with several national security officials to discuss the latest peace proposal offered by Iran. However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the US remains firm on its red lines regarding any agreement to end the conflict.
The comments came after reports that Tehran proposed a temporary deal in which they would reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the suspension of US sanctions on ships sailing to and from Iranian ports.
"An indefinite extension of the ceasefire with the Strait of Hormuz still blocked prolongs market uncertainty," said Marc Loeffert, a trader at Precious Metals Hareaus, as quoted by Bloomberg.
In the long term, a combination of economic stagnation and rising prices could foster the gold market," he said.
