On April 28, according to The Korea Times, the Korea National Tax Service (NTS) said that since July 2025, it has recovered 339 billion won (approximately $23 million) in overdue taxes across borders through cooperation with tax authorities in three countries. This accounts for the majority of the NTS’s total 372 billion won in cross-border tax recoveries since 2015. The NTS is currently exchanging information with 163 jurisdictions to track overseas concealed assets. Starting next year, the NTS will receive virtual asset transaction data from 56 countries under a new crypto asset reporting framework. Starting in 2030, it will also exchange information on overseas real estate holdings and transactions.
