Iran Seeks to Keep Control of Strait of Hormuz
The Wall Street Journal reported that Iranian government officials told mediators Iran intends to maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz. The report followed earlier remarks from Yadollah Javani of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who said the U.S. could never open the strait by military means. Javani also said Iran had cornered Washington by blockading the strait and responding symmetrically.
