IEA Says Big Tech AI Spending Has Surpassed Global Oil and Gas Production Investment
The International Energy Agency said combined capital spending by five major tech firms topped $400 billion last year, putting AI infrastructure investment above global oil and natural gas production spending. The International Energy Agency estimated that this spending could rise another 75% this year as data centre development expands.
