Chen Qun appointed as Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO

UNESCO Director-General Azoulay announced on the 4th that Professor Chen Qun, from China, has been appointed as Assistant Director-General responsible for Education. This is the second time the post has been held by a Chinese national. Chen Qun is a scholar, physicist, and education expert with more than 30 years of academic and administrative leadership experience. He previously served as a professor at East China Normal University and held senior management positions. At the international level, he has long been involved in UNESCO-related work. From 2012 to 2017, he served as the chair of the UNESCO Chair in Teacher Education established at East China Normal University. Since 2021, he has been the Chair of the UNESCO Teacher Education Center Council, committed to promoting international academic cooperation and international teacher training. (CCTV News)
