I set a little rule for myself: it's better to check how the treasury is spent and how milestones are delivered before listening to how good the project’s narrative sounds. It’s not about demanding that no money be wasted, but about ensuring that the pace of spending and delivery match — don’t hold events every day when it’s time to develop the product, and don’t blow the entire budget on “hype” when it’s time to hire. The worst are those who say every month they’re making progress, but a quick look at the chain shows expenses like sprinkling pepper, and the milestones are always “next version.” Many blockchain games are crashing this wave due to inflation + studios + token price spirals, basically because the money was spent first, and the economic model and content didn’t keep up. Anyway, I’d rather go slower now, wait until they really deliver something solid before increasing my position. Hearing too many stories can easily trick you into over-committing.
