I just saw someone complain again, "Why does it take so long to confirm when transferring a chain, so annoying"… I’m also annoyed, but recently, the multiple times cross-chain bridges were hacked really sobered me up. To be honest, with bridges, the biggest risk isn’t slowness, but the fact that you think the transfer has completed when in fact someone/some signing group/some quoting point is just idling or messing around in the middle.

Multi-signature sounds very secure, but it’s really just “a few people agree together,” more people doesn’t mean they won’t collude or get phished; oracles are more like the community’s “eyes,” once they report abnormal quotes, a series of automatic executions will follow and go off course. Now everyone suddenly emphasizes “waiting for confirmation,” I interpret it as a collective brake: better to wait a few more minutes, at least giving yourself a chance to back out, and leaving some time on the chain to expose anomalies.

Anyway, I now do small amounts and batch transfers across chains, slow is okay… It’s an ecosystem replacement, after all, and infrastructure like bridges really needs to be learned through time and accidents.
