Lately I've been looking at PFPs and various membership passes again, and honestly, what everyone is buying isn't just an avatar, but the feeling of "who I'm aligned with." Whether a brand can last long-term probably depends on whether the community is willing to keep engaging and recognizing people even when there's no hype, rather than just relying on airdrops and collaborations to grab attention for a couple of days.

I thought this round people would care more about long-term value, but it’s still about jumping into a new narrative and changing avatars as soon as it appears... I can understand that; short-term excitement is too easy to get caught up in. But the more these moments happen, the more I want to wait patiently: those who can turn membership benefits into daily habits (activities, content, offline connections, secondary liquidity—too fragmented) are the ones that truly feel like real brands.

By the way, it's pretty surreal that hardware wallets are sold out, and phishing links are everywhere. It feels like "checking avatars first when joining a group" isn’t enough anymore—now you should see if people have basic security habits. Anyway, I’d rather have fewer interactions but more confirmation of addresses… a little slower doesn’t matter.
