The spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, He Yongqian, stated at the routine press conference held on the 23rd that the Ministry of Commerce officially submitted comments on the European Commission’s draft revision of the EU Cybersecurity Law on April 17, expressing China’s official position and serious concerns. We hope the EU will attach great importance to and seriously consider the comments and suggestions submitted by China. If Chinese companies are subjected to discriminatory treatment as a result, China may take measures in accordance with the “Foreign Trade Law of the People’s Republic of China,” the “Regulations of the State Council on the Security of Industrial and Supply Chains,” and other relevant laws to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises. At the same time, China believes that cooperation and dialogue are the correct ways to resolve China-EU issues and is willing to work with the EU through consultations to properly address differences and jointly maintain the stability and smooth operation of the global production and supply chains.
