On the afternoon of March 30, the 2026 “Healthy China, Perfect Action” Public Welfare Lecture Series hosted by China Business News was launched in Wuhan. Yang Binyan, Vice President of China Business News, delivered a speech at the scene, pointing out: “Our country’s big health industry has entered a critical stage of high-quality development. Residents’ health needs are upgrading from ‘basic medical security’ to ‘whole-cycle health management,’ shifting from ‘disease treatment’ to ‘prevention and wellness,’ bringing new opportunities for industry development.”

Health is the foundation of people’s happiness; promoting the construction of Healthy China is a major strategic deployment made by the Party Central Committee and the State Council based on the country’s long-term development and people’s well-being. In 2016, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council issued the “Healthy China 2030” Planning Outline, which for the first time elevated the health industry to a national strategic level, clearly proposing the development goal of “reaching a total scale of 16 trillion yuan in health services by 2030,” outlining a clear blueprint for China’s big health industry development.

According to data from the National Health Commission’s Health Development Research Center, the total scale of the health service industry is expected to reach 12.4 trillion yuan by 2025; data from the China Research and Puhua Research Institute shows that China’s big health market has steadily climbed from 8 trillion yuan in 2019, surpassing 20 trillion yuan by 2025, with an average annual compound growth rate of 15%. In this regard, Yang Binyan pointed out that a series of impressive data confirm the practical results of the Healthy China strategy and highlight the huge development potential of the big health industry. Under the guidance of national strategies, China’s big health industry has achieved leapfrog development and has become an important growth pole for the transformation and upgrading of the national economy.

Along with profound changes in residents’ health needs, the development trajectory of the big health industry is becoming increasingly clear. Yang Binyan stated that the current Chinese big health industry is showing three prominent features: “全民觉醒” (全民觉醒), “多元融合” (diverse integration), and “科技赋能” (technology empowerment).

First, individual health awareness is fully awakening, and health consumption has become a basic need of people’s livelihood. Demands for nutritional health, health management, and precision wellness are exploding, and “proactive health” has become a social consensus. This means that people’s attention to health is no longer limited to disease treatment but extends further to daily lifestyles, health management, and preventive interventions throughout the entire process.

Second, the industry ecosystem is accelerating cross-border integration, and business model innovation is continuously iterating. Traditional medical care, nutritional health, and digital technology, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine are deeply integrated. AI health monitoring, mobile medical services, personalized nutrition plans, and other new business forms are rapidly emerging, with intelligent and precise features becoming important directions for industry development. The boundaries of the big health industry are constantly expanding, and the modes of health service supply are continuously upgrading.

Third, policy and market drive in tandem, and industry development vitality continues to be released. From the “National Nutrition Plan (2017–2030)” to various local policies supporting the big health industry, policy dividends are continuously released, market entities are growing steadily, and a good development pattern of “policy guidance, market-led,全民参与” (全民参与) has gradually formed. Yang Binyan stated that this pattern provides strong support for high-quality industry development and creates conditions for health services to better benefit the public.

Looking to the future, Yang Binyan pointed out that China’s big health industry will evolve deeply toward precision, inclusiveness, technological advancement, and integration. Among them, precision nutrition and personalized health management will become core sectors, the silver economy and children’s health industry will usher in an outbreak period, and new productive forces such as artificial intelligence and synthetic biology will further reshape industry development patterns. Meanwhile, the concept of “integrating health into all policies” will promote broader and deeper integration of the big health industry with agriculture, cultural tourism, and intelligent manufacturing sectors. Overall, the development prospects of the big health industry are broad and its potential enormous, but in the rapid development process, the industry still faces challenges such as regional disparities in health literacy, insufficient supply of quality health services, the need to enhance industry innovation capabilities, and the further strengthening of industry regulation.

As an outstanding enterprise representative in the big health field, Perfect (China) has been deeply engaged in the nutritional health sector, always adhering to technological innovation and quality integrity, creating high-quality health products with strict standards, and continuously participating in public health initiatives, bearing corporate social responsibility, and becoming a steadfast practitioner of the Healthy China strategy.

“Building a Healthy China is never the work of one person or one company, but a shared mission of society as a whole.” According to Yang Binyan, since 2021, China Business News and Perfect (China) have jointly held five series of public welfare activities, including “Guarding Health ‘Stomach’ Coming” and “Liver Nourishment Tips, Nutrition Matters.” In the future, China Business News will continue to leverage media advantages, promote health communication, and inject media strength into the Healthy China initiative.
