# Old Hand in Crypto
I've weathered the storm, so I want to hold an umbrella for those who come after
Some roads only reveal their depth after you walk them; some lessons only teach you to cherish after you've suffered through them.
Old Bai once stepped into this space just like everyone else, full of expectations—dreaming of getting rich overnight, chasing pumps and panic selling, and all that. As someone who's been through it, Old Bai wants to share some words with those newly entering this space or trying to survive in it.
There was once a period of numbness and confusion. With a little gain, I'd get cocky and lose my head, thinking that seizing one opportunity would let me soar to the sky. I quit my stable job, flipped my sleep schedule, went all-in, and bet all my hopes on a single win or loss. It looked like dedication, but it was really just blindness. In the end, I not only failed to get the results I wanted, but also wasted the most precious resource of all—time.
Back then, I was always afraid of missing out, never content, obsessing over "what if," trapped in my own obsessions and refusing to turn back. I thought opportunities only came once; if you missed it, it was gone forever. So the more urgent I felt, the more chaotic I became; the more I gambled, the more panicked I got.
It wasn't until later, after some reflection, that I finally understood: life is never about having just one choice.
Real opportunities never fail to arrive; missing this one just means you'll meet something better next time. There's no need to obsess over temporary gains and losses, nor should you put all your chips on a single bet.
Knowing contentment is how you hold onto what you have;
Exercising restraint is how you avoid being controlled by emotion;
Staying grounded is far more solid than getting rich overnight.
I was once that person rushing recklessly through the rain, taking detours, stumbling along the way. That's why I don't want those coming after me to go through the same confusion and torment I did.
I'm writing this not to preach, but simply to share a genuine reflection:
Don't let restlessness destroy your effort; don't let impulsiveness waste your time. Steady yourself, slow down, stay clear-headed, keep your principles close, take it one step at a time, and life will naturally get better.
May everyone on their journey take fewer detours, find smooth sailing, and never have to weather the storms I've weathered.
