My younger brother is about to graduate from Civil Aviation University, majoring in Air Traffic Control. He couldn't find a dispatching job, so our family used connections to send him to Shanghai to repair airplanes. They only recruited 5 positions, and he applied to over 900. My dad works at a state-owned enterprise, which is hiring 15 this year. Over 700 people passed the written exam, and group interviews are conducted with 65 people per group. Dad said that during the first round, they screen based on appearance—those who are unattractive are rejected. Going to college nowadays is really not as good as attending a technical school; the economy has deteriorated to that extent. The headquarters of the neighboring small bank is here, with a coverage rate of 70% for Peking University and Tsinghua University in interviews. It's really too abstract = =
