The bill passed the House in July but stalled in the Senate. Sacks confirmed a Jan markup is coming, but three issues remain unresolved: DeFi treatment, stablecoin yield, and Trump family ethics provisions.
Consensus is that April is the last realistic deadline for a Senate floor vote (before midterm politics take over) and for that to happen - the markup needs to be agreed by the SEC + CFTC by the end of Jan. This likely gets politicised so expect headlines throughout the month as things progress.
