Wintermute votes against AAVE brand control proposal: escalation of conflict is unnecessary, the core issue lies in value distribution
【Bitu】Wintermute founder Evgeny recently shared some thoughts on social media, sparking quite a bit of discussion. He admitted that AAVE constitutes a significant portion of Wintermute's investment portfolio, and that neither he personally nor Wintermute as a whole holds any equity in Aave Labs.
Regarding the recently heated brand control vote, Evgeny's analysis is quite interesting. He believes the core contradiction lies here—between Aave Labs and a large portion of AAVE holders, who have completely different understandings of "who should capture what value." If this cognitive dissonance isn't resolved, the long-term development of the token could be seriously affected.
However, he also pointed out that the current escalation of conflict is neither necessary nor constructive. "Deciding by vote before figuring out the specifics makes no sense," he said. Moreover, the surrounding environment of this vote is filled with various political maneuvers. Stani's communication indeed has issues, but the criticism from the other side is clearly excessive, directly impacting the token price. Such matters shouldn't be pushed forward so hastily.
Therefore, Wintermute will vote against this proposal. However, Evgeny also expressed hope—that Aave Labs will take this issue seriously and carefully consider how to fundamentally resolve the long-term dilemma of token value distribution.
