Recently, I noticed the consensus upgrade proposal of Beldex, and this improvement idea is actually quite pragmatic.

The core idea is not complicated: to make block production more random and fair, while increasing the difficulty of prediction and manipulation.

Let's take a look at the current pain points. The PoS mechanism adopted by Beldex currently has a certain degree of centralization—about 11 validators take turns participating in block generation. While this ensures the operation of the network, such a fixed rotation mechanism can easily create predictable patterns. In the long run, this is not ideal for the decentralization and censorship resistance of the network.

The upgrade plan aims to break this fixed rhythm. By introducing more randomness and a fairer validator selection mechanism, it allows for a more open and dynamic participation right, which can protect the interests of small nodes while enhancing the overall security and decentralization of the network. From a technical perspective, this is a good evolutionary direction.
