Who are the founders of Decentraland?
The two co-founders of Decentraland, Ariel Meilich and Esteban Ordano, have long "retired".
Ariel Meilich: Served as the project leader from 2017 to 2020, previously founded a translation platform and CRM tools, and also worked as an analyst at top Silicon Valley venture capital firm Charles River Ventures. Now participates only as a consultant.
Esteban Ordano: Formerly the Chief Technology Officer of Decentraland, he has been in the crypto space for several years—BitPay engineer, Matic advisor, and even ran his own smart contract development company. More impressively, he also co-founded Zeppelin Solutions, a blockchain infrastructure company.
The two founders no longer directly manage the project, and Decentraland is now handled by the newly established Decentraland Foundation. In simple terms, it has been transferred from the hands of the entrepreneurs to the management of the foundation—this is quite common in Web3 projects.
