The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed the deadline for applications for spot Solana-ETFs. The regulator is expected to make some decision on them by October 16, 2025.

The speech is about the following funds:

Most of the applications for these products were accepted for consideration by the SEC in February 2025, which effectively started the countdown for the 240-day deadline. The Commission explained the postponement of the deadline to October 2025 as the need to study the proposed rule change more carefully.

At the same time, we note that the process of reviewing applications is not standing still. In July 2025, the SEC appealed to issuers with a request to submit amended S-1 forms.

At the same time, Bloomberg Intelligence expert Eric Balchunas stated that these exchange-traded funds are likely to be approved this summer. The reason for this was the launch of the spot Solana-ETF by REX Shares and Osprey Funds, which used a different mechanism for its registration.

His colleague, James Seyffart, commented on the situation. He confirmed an earlier forecast that spot Solana ETFs would be approved in mid-October.
