ZCode Clarifies Code Upload Issue, Plans Open Source and User Compensation Today

According to ZCode's official statement on September 18, the code editor addressed a code upload controversy, clarifying that data is not permanently stored. The issue stemmed from the "Repo Wiki" feature, which could trigger repository data uploads while generating wiki pages in the cloud. The uploaded data is immediately deleted after wiki generation and not retained. The feature was enabled by default at launch, affecting some users, but has now been fixed.

ZCode announced plans to open-source its codebase and invite third-party reviewers to assess the system, with ongoing transparency on progress. All users will receive an additional weekly quota reset as compensation, effective today.
