Golden Finance reported that Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, tweeted that the Pectra upgrade is expected to be launched in March, with one important update being to increase the blob target from 3 to 6, meaning that the capacity of the L2 network will double.
Vitalik proposed to determine the blob target through a coin holder voting mechanism, so that it can be flexibly adjusted with technological progress without waiting for a hard fork. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude to developers who are committed to EIP-4444 (historical data expiration), statelessness, client efficiency upgrades, and other improvements that help enhance the decentralization friendliness of L1. These improvements will provide important support for the scalability of Ethereum L1.
