French inflation remained cool in January

Jinshi data, January 31st news, Friday's data shows that inflation in France remained stable at the beginning of this year. A day ago, the European Central Bank once again lowered the key interest rate in the euro area under the situation of economic stagnation. The published data shows that the year-on-year pump1.8% in January, the increase is the same as in December last year. This number is slightly lower than the economists' expectations, and it keeps the inflation rate below the 2% threshold set by the European Central Bank. The key factor driving inflation last year, the service industry inflation, slowed down in January, but energy prices rebounded on a lower base. Earlier data showed that the French and the wider euro area economies stagnated in the last few months of 2024. Economists predict that at the beginning of the new year, the hope of a rapid rebound in the economy is slim.
