According to the McClean Report's June 2026 update, the global semiconductor market is projected to surge 98.3% in 2026, reaching approximately $1.7 trillion, with further expansion to over $2.2 trillion in 2027. The growth is primarily driven by AI data center infrastructure buildout and severe supply constraints in advanced logic and memory components.

Memory is the key growth driver. The memory market is forecast to expand 298% in 2026 to $916.4 billion, with average selling prices rising 268% while shipment volumes increase only 8%. High-bandwidth memory (HBM), essential for AI accelerators to maintain consistent data flow to GPUs during training and inference, is driving the surge. As Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron shift more wafer capacity toward HBM, non-HBM DRAM prices are rising across PC, server, smartphone, automotive, and industrial electronics markets.
