Dollar-Won Falls to 1,422.80 Won on August 6 as Oil Stabilizes, Dollar Weakens

According to Yonhapinfomax, on August 6, the dollar-won exchange rate fell to 1,422.80 won as of 9:19 a.m. Seoul time, down 1.70 won from the previous day's closing of 1,424.50 won. The decline was supported by dollar weakness and stabilizing oil prices, with WTI crude futures trading around $74 per barrel and the dollar index falling near 99.6. Market expectations for a potential reopening of the Hormuz Strait following Iran-Oman negotiations also contributed to dollar weakness.
