China's Ministry of Commerce: Argentine Beef Imports Reach 50% of Designated Quota on Aug 5

China's Ministry of Commerce announced on August 5, 2026, that beef imports from Argentina under safeguard measures have reached 50% of the designated quota specified in Ministry of Commerce Notice 2025 No. 87. Once imports reach 100% of the quota, a 55% tariff surcharge will be imposed on top of the current applicable tariff rate, effective from the third day of reaching the target.
