AI-Powered Voice Phishing Attacks Target Two Sigma, Citadel, and Point72

According to Bloomberg, hackers launched a series of AI-powered voice phishing attacks against multiple major hedge funds in recent days, targeting Two Sigma, Citadel, Point72, and several private equity firms. The attackers used artificial intelligence to mimic voices and deceive employees over phone calls into disclosing sensitive information or granting system access.

Point72 notified investors of the attack, indicating that customer information appeared not to have been compromised, while the company continues its review. Two Sigma said it successfully blocked the attack with no impact to data or systems.
