Samsung and SK Hynix Pledge Expanded Shareholder Returns on Record H1 Profits

According to Reuters on August 5, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix committed to expanding shareholder returns amid record cash generation from the AI memory boom. Samsung's first-half operating profit reached approximately 146 trillion Korean won, while SK Hynix posted about 98 trillion won. Both companies plan to allocate 50% of free cash flow to shareholder returns, with specific plans to be announced by year-end.
