According to SpaceX's latest earnings call on August 6, CEO Elon Musk announced the company will fully adopt Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture for its AI infrastructure, causing Nvidia stock to surge over 3% at close while AMD plunged over 7%. Musk stated SpaceX will build its AI systems "entirely on Nvidia's platform" following an evaluation, with the company expecting AI computing capacity to reach 2GW by year-end and scale to nearly 10GW by end of 2027.
SpaceX also disclosed AI business revenue of $2.6 billion, up 213% quarter-over-quarter and 247% year-over-year, driven by cloud services and Grok subscriptions. The company has signed data center lease agreements worth billions of dollars with Google and Anthropic to provide AI computing capacity.
