RnT Technology to Sell Apex Investment for 5.5 Billion Won, Recording 4.5 Billion Won Loss

According to Korea's Financial Supervisory Service, RnT Technology announced on August 3 that it will sell Apex Investment for 5.5 billion Korean won, recording a 4.5 billion won loss approximately one year after acquiring it for 10 billion won. The contract was signed with 550 million won received as deposit, and the remaining 4.95 billion won will be paid by September 3.

Apex Investment, a fintech company acquired by RnT Technology in July of last year, saw its performance deteriorate significantly. In 2024, Apex reported revenue of 4 billion won and net profit of 1.9 billion won. However, by year-end, the subsidiary recorded a net loss of 800 million won and recognized 2.7 billion won in impairment losses. In the first quarter of 2026, Apex posted another 1 billion won net loss. The investment structure through multiple investment combinations remained opaque, with no clear disclosure of how capital was deployed.
