KOSDAQ Surges 24% in 4 Days, Nears 800 Level

According to Korea Exchange, KOSDAQ closed at 799.59 yesterday (August 4), up 2.42% and maintaining its fourth consecutive day of gains. The index has surged 24% since July 30, briefly breaking the 800 level during intraday trading for the first time in 13 trading sessions.

Market experts attribute the rebound to easing selling pressure from margin liquidation—credit loan balances fell to 5.83 trillion won from a peak of 11.05 trillion won in late April—coupled with improved valuation and institutional inflows exceeding 1 trillion won. Analysts recommend an index-focused strategy over individual stock selection at this early stage of market recovery.
