According to Korean Stock Exchange, Kosdaq ETFs posted strong gains with the index rising 2.42% to 799.59 on August 5, returning to positive territory after recent declines. The Kosdaq index jumped 13.28% over the past week.
Active-managed Kosdaq ETFs outperformed passive variants, with MIDAS Kosdaq Active posting the highest one-week return of 28.24%, followed by TIME Kosdaq Active at 27.07% and DS Kosdaq Active at 25.52%. Passive Kosdaq ETFs recorded 20-22% returns. Fund managers attributed active ETFs' stronger performance to higher allocations to IT sectors, particularly semiconductors and related equipment, where holdings represented over 50% of active ETF portfolios versus 30% in passive funds.
