Spot Gold Surges 4.11% to $4,245.39 on August 5, Reclaiming Above $4,200

On August 5, spot gold surged 4.11% to $4,245.39 per ounce, reclaiming levels above $4,200 for the first time in recent sessions. Prices climbed steadily from Asia-Pacific market open, hitting an intraday high of $4,267.78 earlier today.

Spot silver rallied 4.12% to $62.0075 per ounce, also climbing since Asia-Pacific open with a daily peak of $62.7770. COMEX copper futures rose 1.47% to $6.7410 per pound. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index surged 6.86% to 345.93, while the NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index gained 7.33% to 2,395.57.
